Sean Thornton (Wayne) is an Irish-American boxer who refuses to fight again after a traumatic bout. In 1975's 'Rooster Cogburn' John Wayne returns as Rooster Cogburn in the sequel to 'True Grit'. This time round, the rough and ready lawman teams up with prim missionary Eula Goodnight (Katharine Hepburn), who wants to find the men who killed her father.
