Amazing

Have wanted this movie for a long time and made my friend buy it for me for my birthday. Just rewatched this today, and I love this disc. Specially the two-sided cover. The extras are amazing. So glad I have this!

Actually a horror movie disguised as a drama

A masterpiece by Thomas Vinterberg, probably my personal favorite drama due to the fantastic cast and unique, heavy story. In case you wont though (SOME SPOILERS AHEAD), the story follows Lucas (Mads Mikkelsen) and his life as a preschool teacher in a small town who gets accused by his best friend's daughter of sexual abuse - an idea which got implanted in her head because her brother and his idiot friend showed her pornography on their phone / tablet, can't remember what it was right now. You can understand the perspective of both Lucas and the people that turned against him, but the level of anxiety and dread this movie induces is actually unbearable at times, which is why I wrote the title the way I did. Even though you see both sides, you're still following a man that did nothing and is forced to go through the suffering of having pretty much no one in his life. By the time some evidence shows up in his favor, it's already too late and most of the people have made up their minds about him. Everything about this movie is great, the acting is natural and realistic, there is little to no music in the movie, the character study, story and ending are all superb. The bonuses are all great. While I personally think the alternate ending and deleted / extended scenes are almost all not needed (as in, the movie is good as it is), I am glad that we have this stuff as bonus content; bonus scenes have always been one of my favorites. Highly recommended, I would also love to see Arrow release some other Vinterberg movies, especially Druk (2020).
