Few horror movie franchises are as iconic as Don Coscarelli's Phantasm series. From its deadly flying silver spheres through to its hooded dwarf minions, and of course, the towering figure of arch villain The Tall Man himself, the imagery conjured up by the Phantasm films remains etched in the psyche of genre fans everywhere.
Beginning with the 1979 original through to 2016's Phantasm: Ravager, the five films which make up the Phantasm series follow the young Mike Baldwin as he battles against the enigmatic "Tall Man" - an extraterrestrial being intent on harvesting the human race as slaves for his home planet. Aided by friend Reggie and his trusty four-barrelled shotgun, Mike resolves to vanquish the Tall Man before he wipes out humanity altogether.

Drill that thing into you're Brain
I only knew the first film, than I saw that marvelous Boxset, straight up bought it. What an underrated Horror Film series, and Legendary Villain. Everyone these days associates "Boy!" To kratos from the God of War reboot video game, but my first thought was... Did they lift that straight out of Phantasm??? I love those films, except the final one (it has a way to minuscule budget and it deflates every joy). Even if some will debate me to death, after the first, I love the 4th one. That Film series has so much potential to give even more movies, or god forbid even a Retro Sequel to the style of those Halloween ones (please in better). That Lore has some untapped miles still in its gas tank, so grab that box, suck it in, and spread the Word! The boxset is a beauty, and also has some nice sound and image quality + Extras to the Top! Buy it already

New discovery
The first movie takes it's self a little too seriously for me, but from there - it leans into the absurdity of it all & comes into its own. I love the boxset presentation and each disc has a wealth of extras. Struck gold with this collection - thanks Arrow for the discovery :)

Silly, but good fun
I didn't think much of the first movie, perhaps because the tone of it is a little too serious, for a film that really isn't! Once the series learns to lean into the absurdity and the humour, it really becomes a fun journey. Loving crafted release with numerable extras - a real treasure trove! Delightful.
