Dream set for Italian exploitation lovers
5Lovely box set featured three lesser know entries in the Giallo genre. Uneven, but, as a whole, extremely enjoyable. Excellent 2K transfers.

Great little set
4Really enjoyed making my way through these giallo box sets. Some good picks and more strange or obscure choices beyond the more obvious ones. Smile before Death is a highlight from this particular set. The Killer reserved nine seats was also good. It's a good when these sets have a variety to them. Such as this set with a paranoid sexual thriller, a tight police procedural, and a spooky gothic whodunnit.

5A very good release. I especially liked that this had regular booklets inside each film instead of one of those book things that have the writing way too far into the fold.

Giallo Essentials - Black Edition
4This set is for people who are already interested in Gialli and have a basic understanding of the genre. If you bring that the movies are all really interesting. Qualitywise "Smile before death" is the best one. It is first and foremost a comedy. A thing I never saw in the Giallo context. It also has an amazing soundtrack. "The Killer reserved nine seats" is a pretty bad chamber piece. It's poorly written and directed and the suspense is lost after some really weird supernatural plotpoints are introduced. But it's still entertaining. The third movie is a solid murder/crime story with slight psychological touches. The transfers are all great and the extras are ok.
