"A quivering nexus of AIDS allegory, identity crisis, historical unease, and socio-economic panic." - Slant Magazine

"Love him or hate him, Mr. Abel Ferrara is one of the few directors who can turn genre movie making into something deeper."
- Caryn James, The New York Times

"As always, it's mesmerizing to watch Abel Ferrara go for broke." - Peter TraversRolling Stone

Chris WalkenLili Taylor (The Conjuring) and the director of Bad Lieutenantgive you this major stylish work of '90s indie horror, a mashup of Jean-Luc Godard and Bram Stoker, a feast of philosophy and East Coast hip-hop

In the midst of his most prolific, hard-hitting burst of filmmaking (basically that whole decade), Abel Ferrara crafted this loving portrait of New York and hellish portrait of heroin through the darkest poetic lens. As Rudy Giuliani's "Disneyfication" of city takes root, a morbid grad student (Lili Taylor) is bitten by a vampire seductress (Annabella Sciorra) and must navigate the shadows while tempering her growing addiction to blood.

Filmed beautifully in black and white, The Addiction sees Abel Ferrara on his own terms and at his very best: raw, shocking, intelligent, masterful.
