Good release, no slipcover
Everything seems fine but the images are a bit misleading, doesn't come with a slipcover. Otherwise good release, no other complaints. Many extras and both cuts, from the 4k restoration.

Not the typical movie I`d like
Usually movies like these are not what I`d be too fond of. You`d expect them to be too sugary and sappy perhaps. A coming of age story and a melodrama in a small village which just by the plot wouldn`t have anything to make it stand out. A cliche fest was expected. So this means Giuseppe Tornatore pulled off quite something if it made me enjoy it so much and also to buy this remarkable edition. It really does have a movie magic and everything that could go wrong just did not. It is just a beautiful film, nothing else to be said, simply to be enjoyed to the fullest. Both cuts of the movie are excellent. For me personally is not easy to choose which one is better. The only thing I can be nitpicking is that the humour from the first part of the movie later is missing. To the technical part, both versions look excellent. The extras are likewise excellent. All in all a classic in a great edition, with a beautiful slipcase and booklet.
