As her research leads her into the bowels of Chicago's deprived housing projects and deeper into the Candyman's world, Helen learns that some legends are best left well alone.
Expertly directed by British filmmaker Bernard Rose (Paperhouse) and boasting an astounding score by composer Philip Glass, Candyman ingeniously reworks Clive Barker's original short story "The Forbidden" (originally published as part of his groundbreaking Books of Blood series) into a modern horror parable that remains as timely today as ever.

Comprehensive Edition
Very complete package put together by Arrow her ! The movie remains an enduring horror classic.

Candyman
Great film and a great release. I had seen this one ages ago bought this rewatched it and it was better than I remembered. Virginia Madsen and Tony Todd are both great in this. Recommended.

Bernard Rose takes a different approach to a horror film
And it succedes as we are not in front of a typical slasher from the nineties, quite far from it. Also it changes the context of the original story by moving it from Liverpool to Chicago. While not an all time classic like Hellraiser, the different approach in the direction, excellent casting and haunting Philip Glass soundtrack make it very much a cult movie and a must see. The picture and sound are well presented and natural when we speak about the technical side of this release. Among the extras it is nice to see the very early work of the director.
