[In the cafeteria of Westerburg High School in Ohio, a new student called JD and Veronica Sawyer meet.] JD: Are you a Heather? Veronica: No. I'm a Veronica.

[In a lush green lawn, Heather Chandler, Heather 1, and Heather McNamara, Heather 2, are playing croquet. Heather 1 hits the croquet ball on Veronica's head, who is buried in the lawn up to her head.] Veronica: You wanted to be a member of the most powerful clique in school.

[Heather 1, in red, Heather 2, in yellow, and Heather Duke, Heather 3, in green, laugh at Veronica being hit with the croquet ball.] Veronica: Dear Diary.

[Back at the high school cafeteria, the Heathers and Veronica look at another girl, Martha Dunnstock, who they just pranked.] Veronica: Heather told me she teaches people real life.

[Kurt and Ram, two football-player bullies also in the cafeteria, fist-bump as they await Martha's reaction.]

[A caption reads, "A killer new 4K restoration."]

[A group of nerds sit at the cafeteria. One of them spits out his drink, startled. The Heathers and Veronica look on.] Veronica: She said, "Real life sucks losers dry."

Nerd: Did see that? Heather number one just looked right at me.

[A caption reads, "Best friends."]

[Veronica and Heather 1 talk in the cafeteria.] Veronica: Does it not bother you that everybody in this school thinks that you're a piranha?

[Heathers 2 and 3 chuckle at Veronica's comment.]

[JD, sitting at a cafeteria table on his own, looks at Veronica, as she goes past. She locks eyes with him too and, distracted, bumps into another student.] Heather 1: You were nothing before you met me.

[At a frat party, Heather 1 and Veronica have an argument outside, by a fire.] Heather 1: You were a Girl Scout Cookie.

[A caption reads, "Social friends."]

[Heather 1 and Heather 3 talk in the green lawn as they play croquet.] Heather 1: Did you have a brain tumour for breakfast?

[Veronica in the cafeteria.] Veronica: I don't really like my friends.

[Veronica and JD talk in the evening outside a petrol station shop.] JD: I don't really like your friends, either.

[At a white table, JD and Veronica mix Hull Clean, milk and orange juice inside a white cup. In Heather 1's room, JD gives her the drink.] JD: Maybe it's time to take a vacation.

[In her room, Heather 1 gags on the blue drink and falls flat onto a glass table, shattering it.]

[Veronica and JD look at each other surprised, as Heather 1's body lies on the red carpet of her bedroom.] Veronica: I just killed my best friend.

JD: And your worst enemy. Veronica: Same difference.

[It's Heather 3's funeral and the entire congregation is wearing white jumpsuits and 3D glasses, except for Veronica.] Veronica: Dear Diary, my teen angst has a body count.

[Back a Heather 1's funeral, the other Heathers pay their respects by the open casket.] Heather 2: Oh, God, this is a tragic thing.

[In the changing room at the high-school, a student approaches Veronica.] Student: Sorry to hear about your friend.

[Back at Heather 1's funeral, Heather 3 reflects by the open casket.] Heather 3: Now I know you understood everything. Hallelujah.

[A caption reads, "Scathing and hilarious" - Empire Online.]

[At the high-school cafeteria, Ram and Kurt approach JD's table and Ram sticks his finger in JD's plate of food.] Ram: You're gonna eat this?

[JD pulls a gun on Ram and Kurt at the cafeteria.] JD: We scare people into not being assholes.

[JD looks on as he passes by riding his Harley Davison, dressed all in black. At Veronica's house, she sits with her parents for dinner in their patio.] Mother: So, will we get to meet this dark-horse prom contender?

[At night, JD surprises Veronica by climbing up her bedroom window into her bedroom. Veronica is wearing a navy blue dressing gown.] JD: Dreadful etiquette. I apologise.

[Shots in quick succession of Veronica and JD killing Kurt and Ram in the woods, as they both run away.] Veronica: I did not want them dead!

[Inside Veronica's car, she argues loudly with JD.] JD: Did, too. Veronica: I did not!

JD: Did, too. Veronica: I did not!

JD: Did, too! Veronica: Did not! Did not!

Veronica: Shut up!

[At Kurt and Ram's funeral.] Kurt's father: I love my dead, gay son. [Veronica and JD snort and chuckle.]

[At night, in the kitchen, Veronica and JD talk to each other while JD holds a knife.] Veronica: That knife is filthy! JD: What do you think I'm gonna do with it? Take out her tonsils? Veronica: Ha!

[Veronica gets startled as she lights up a candle. In Veronica's house, Heather 3 gets slapped by Veronica.] Heather 3: You were out of control.

[In the classroom, Veronica starts chuckling, then changes it to sobbing as everyone in the class turns to her.]

[Shots in quick succession of Veronica pointing a gun, then of her and JD running through the woods.]

[Heather 2 talks on the phone in her bedroom.] Heather 2: God has cursed me, I think.

[Veronica and Heather 3 sit in Veronica's bedroom as they listen to the radio.]

[In the woods.] Police Officer: Oh, the humanity.

[Sitting at a desk at her home, Veronica throws her journal away.]

[At the high school, JD embraces Veronica.] JD: Is this as good for you as it is for me? [Veronica finds a Barbie doll that looks like her hanging from a noose.]

[At a funeral.] Veronica: Are we going to prom or to hell?

[Close up on Veronica's eye. Then on the priest as he delivers his sermon in church.] Priest: Life can suck!
