FORGED BY A GOD. FORETOLD BY A WIZARD. FOUND BY A KING.

From John Boorman, the director of Point Blank, Deliverance and Zardoz comes the definitive cinematic telling of the life and enduring legend of King Arthur, from birth to death and beyond.

Behold, the Sword of Power! Excalibur! Forged when the world was young, and bird and beast and flower were one with man and death was but a dream. Given by Merlin to Uther Pendragon to unite the land in peace but wasted on lust. Driven into stone by Uther's dying hand, there to await the coming of a true King. A journey into the wonders and horrors of the imagination, this is the story of Arthur, the knights of the round table, the golden age of Camelot, the quest for the Holy Grail and of course, the wizard, Merlin.

With an extraordinary cast that includes Helen Mirren, Gabriel Byrne, Nicol Williamson and Liam Neeson, Oscar-nominated cinematography by Alex Thomson (Legend) and a thundering score by Trevor Jones, Excalibur makes its Ultra HD debut in a stunning new 4K restoration. From the blood and mud of the battlefield, to the glowing green of ancient woods and gleaming gold of Camelot, experience Excalibur as you never have before.

Arrow may be Excalibur themselves...

5 out of 5 stars, 5 reviews

Long have I wanted to watch this film and finally, the chance came upon me. As if the discs were forged by the Gods of extras and the new master was conjured by magic, this new limited edition contains everything I could have ever hoped for (and then some). I was aware of this classic for decades but neither the VHS, DVD or recent blu-ray editions were enough to truly entice me. Along came Arrow who offered a plethora of supplemental features allowing to go deep into the production as well as talking about the impact this film had on cinema. But where this edition shines the most is its presentation. A wonderfully crafted 4k master that look like a billion bucks. The grain is preserved and every texture (from rock to mold to water and armor) is a grand spectacle. As I only recently discovered Arrow (in 2025) and their penchant for creating such satisfactory limited editions, they have quickly risen among my favorite labels. It is with great anticipation I await their monthly announcements! Not only am I now a fan of Excalibur, Arrow has gained my respect and attention.

Done justice

5 out of 5 stars, 5 reviews

Arrow has done justice to this seminal masterpiece. This is how movies should be release, top notch picture quality that reflects the director's intention and packed with features plus an alternate cut for completists. The film itself is a marvel to be enjoyed, a distinctive visual expression and a soundtrack that powerfully matches it.

The whole package is absolutely brilliant! The Box, the paperback, the collectors cards and the tons of previously unreleased bonus material as well. Picture quality is absolutely amazing (if you think the movie is from 1981!) and sound is also perfect! And all of this for an affordable price! Brilliant! Thank you Arrowfilms for this release!

Incredible

This is my first LE in a hard box from Arrow and it blew me away, the matte box is so perfect and the huge rich booklet with essays really has premium feel to it! What to say about the movie, just the fact that the entire huge arthurian legend is in one movie and it works is an epic feat! Love this!
